Volunteer Group Brings Festivity and Housewarming Gifts
Volunteer groups often make a tangible contribution to Jubilee, and they can also touch the hearts of our Jubilee community members. Recently, the CRECE Leadership Program hosted a housewarming celebration for people Jubilee supports moving into new apartments.
“We envisioned this gathering as an opportunity to bring joy, connection, and recognition to the incredible people you serve,” said Pamela Cabrera of the CRECE Leadership Program. “We also wanted to express our gratitude for the work Jubilee does year-round.”
They certainly delivered on their vision! Celebration attendees came together with members of CRECE for a party that featured BINGO, karaoke, and salsa dancing. CRECE decorated the Jubilee event space with balloon arches and party lights, and guests were treated to specialty mocktails during the party. Their Master of Ceremonies kept the energy high during all the activities.
“I had a blast at the party,” said Amy Sabol. “It was so fun spending time with our new friends.” Amy is a longtime Jubilee community member. She recently moved from a home she shared with housemates into her own apartment with support from Jubilee’s Housing Support Services. Amy left the party with a brand-new vacuum cleaner gifted by CRECE. She plans to use it on her own to keep her new apartment clean.
“We’re grateful to be gifted brand-new household items,” said Senior Housing Specialist Amanda Gibson. “Many of the people we assist are living on their own for the first time and are on a fixed budget. Thanks to CRECE, we’re able to provide much-needed housewarming items, like the vacuum Amy received, as well as microwave ovens, sheets, and pillows.”
CRECE stands for Creación de Resultados Extraordinarios, Compromiso y Excelencia, which translates to Creating Extraordinary Results, Commitment and Excellence.
