During this season of gratitude, we are reminded that giving is just as important as receiving. Direct support professional Alex Portugal makes that possible for members of our Jubilee community. Each week, Alex, Todd Locke, Sandra Esquivel, and Javier Requejo volunteer as a group at Comfort Cases. They help fill backpacks with comfort and personal care items for youth entering the foster care system.

“I am always inspired when Todd says, ‘I am happy today’ and ‘I am helping children in need’ after we volunteer together. His words are a powerful example of what we learn in Jubilee training about the importance of feeling useful and contributing to society,” said Alex.
