Program Services Team Promotes Independence and Community Building

Spotlight on Team Divine

As shared by Jubilee Program Manager Oyebusola (Busola) Oworu

It’s a well-known fact that my team throws the best parties! But in all seriousness, our get-togethers are a way to create strong connections between the 13 people my team supports and their wider community.

The ladies we support at Sullivan House know that they’ll have a monthly dinner with volunteers from Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, and we make a point to celebrate birthdays as a group. Last month, we hosted a big 60th birthday party for Nicholas Padams that brought together his family, friends, and his Jubilee team.

Team Divine takes our commitment to the people we support seriously. Our 38-member team meets once a month for a deep dive training. Topics we’ve covered include proper documentation, medication administration, and person-centered planning.

We excel at the day-to-day work of helping people live independently, and we also recognize the importance of strong friendships and having joy in life. We help people achieve their life goals. For example, Jubilee has been part of Brian Lyman’s life for 45 years. He wanted to take a trip to New York City. Our team worked closely with Brian and his family to make it a reality. Jubilee direct support professional Babatunde Osasona helped Brian achieve his goal, traveling to New York with him. The trip was so successful that he wants to go back this summer.

I’m excited about what our team achieves to help each person we support live their best lives.
