"Eid" in Arabic means "festival" or "feast," and in Islam, it refers to two major holidays: Eid al-Fitr (the festival of breaking the fast, marking the end of Ramadan) and Eid al-Adha (the festival of sacrifice, coinciding with the Hajj pilgrimage).
